Why we came

This was the reason for this whole adventure. Georgia getting to dance for 3 weeks for 6 hours a day.

The ballet studio is in this building on the 8th floor. It is the old grain exchange building.

Here is the back of the building. See those big windows on top. That is the studio where she dances. All the light makes the studio really beautiful.

Here she is going in in the morning. She gets to ride the elevator up each morning.

She made lots of friends.

And had lots of fun.

Roadtrip to Wisconsin

One of the first things we noticed was a lot of these signs. Snowmobile Crossing!!

This hard to read because I was taking this picture while driving but it says ELK crossing!

This is the Blue Vista Berry Farm. It is hard to tell in this picture but you can see Lake Superior off in the distance.

Georgia pretending to be a nature girl.

Part of the beautiful flower garden at the berry farm.

A little friend at the garden. He is the size of a chipmunk but has different markings and sits up like a prairie dog. Anyone have any idea what he is?

Highway 13 runs along Lake Superior so we saw a lot of these. Every 10 miles or so is a new little town with a beautiful marina.

And most of these little towns have antique shops in various old buildings. We both thought this old bank was lovely.

There were also these everywhere. It is the perfect road for motorcycles.

Weekend in St. Paul

We couldn't go to St. Paul without going to Mall of America. It is big and overwhelming and it would take days to see and do everything there. We only had 7 hours there but it was still fun.

Our hotel was in downtown St. Paul. It is a beautiful city.

One of the main reasons we went for the weekend was so Georgia could go see one of her favorite bands Never Shout Never. The show was in this bar. Yes I said bar but it was an early evening show that was for all ages. It was mainly 15 -20 year old and a few parents. It was loud and hot but Georgia had a great time.

This is the guy that Georgia wanted to see. Isn't he cute.

There was a lot of hair swinging from this band The Ready Set.

St. Paul is the capital of Minnesota. The building was designed by the same man that designed the Arkansas state capital building. Minnesota's capital is a replica of St. Peters in Rome.

This sits on top of the entrance. It is quite stunning in person.

And here is St. Paul's Catheral.

A morning in Duluth

No this picture wasn't taken out in the country somewhere. These deer live on the campus where we are staying and show up outside our apartment every morning. The campus of St. Scholastica has a hospital and a monastery so there is a lot of property.

This is known as Canal Park. It is downtown Duluth and runs along Lake Superior.

This is the Boardwalk that goes out over the lake.

Don't know these people but it is a shot of downtown Duluth from the boardwalk in Canal Park. Most of the city sits along the hill over looking the water.

The water is beautiful but too cold to get in and swim. It was about 50 degrees the morning I took these and it was July 7th!

Another "beach shot". Notice the shore closely. No sand.

Instead of sand you there are these beautiful looking river rocks.

We've made it to Duluth!

This is the campus.

This is where we live.

These grow everywhere! Aren't they pretty?

My mom is afraid she is going to drive into the lake!
